Collect One
O God,
the strength of all them that put their trust in thee;
Mercifully accept our prayers;
and because through the weakness of our mortal nature
we can do no good thing without thee, grant us the help of thy grace,
that in keeping of thy commandments
we may please thee both in will and deed;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Collect Two

Mercifully accept our prayers

we may please you, both in will and deed;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

New Parish Readers

Congratulations to Elizabeth Smyth and Carole Williamson who were licenced by the Diocesan Warden of Readers to serve as Parish Readers in our parish

Parish Readers, in addition to reading the bible and leading the intercessions, which they and others do already, are authorised to read services from the Prayer Book (or other services authorised for use by the Bishop). There are certain limits to that – they may not read The Absolution after the prayer of Confession, The Prayer of Consecration at Holy Communion nor The Blessing at the end of the service. They are not authorised to preach their own sermons, however they may read a sermon that the rector has written. By a separate authorisation, they are also permitted to administer the Chalice at Holy Communion.

We wish them well in this new ministry within our parish and pray that it will be a blessing to them and to us.

prayerSunday 18 June

Three of our parish Guides, Stephanie, Lucy and Rachel, invite you to join them in the Parish Hall for a “Father's Day coffee and get together”, either before or straight after Church, between 10:30 am and 2:00 pm. All donations going towards their International Guide Camps in July. The girls thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you there. Please bring your Friends!

Rev Andrew will be on Holiday from -
Monday 10th July - Monday 31st July.

During that time Emergency Pastoral Care will be provided by -
Rev Bill Boyce, Tel: 028 9087 9029

The Sunday Services will be led by:
Rev Dr Bob Cotter - 16th & 23rd July
Mrs Louise Bowes - 30th July

This is the last Pew News update for the Summer

  • Every week members of the congregation participate in the service by reading a specific passage of the bible.
    Everything is printed out for you, the introduction, the passage and words for the end.
    Rather than wait to be asked, please see Margaret Walbridge if you are prepared to vounteer to help.
    The more volunteers we have the less often anyone would need to be asked to read.

  • Bible Reading Fellowship notes are available from Mrs Daphne Lucas.

  • The Church of Ireland Gazette is available to order from Mr Alan Walbridge.
